My Favorite iPad Apps for Blogging & Beyond

It is no secret that I am addicted to my iPad. I can't help it, it is freaking awesome. I am surprised at how much I love it, I am not a techno-gadget-seeking person. Marc on the other hand wants every new fangdangled thing on the market. I actually bargained with him back in 2009, I went to Disney with a friend and he bought a flat screen TV.

Anyways, my iPad was my 30th birthday present. Marc wanted a party for his 30th and I wanted an iPad. Again fair trade. I threw him an awesome 30th party if I do say so myself.

Our home computer crashed so my iPad is where I do all my blogging from and any computer business. Sometime it is limiting but for the most part I get done what I need too with the help of some apps.

My top blogging app for sure is Blogsy. On my iPad I can't upload photos directly to blogger, so I use Blogsy to compose my posts, add pictures and then it uploads to blogger. I can schedule posts, add HTML and everything. I would be lost without Blogsy. Below is a screen shot, you can connect your Facebook and instagram to use those pictures as well.

The remaining apps are in no particular order but all they all serve a purpose.

Photo365 is a newer app to me but I already love it. It is a photo a day app where you upload a photo and you can add a caption. I love it and think it help me while I try to complete Project Life this year.

Pinterest, do I really need to say anything? The app makes it so much easier to navigate. They have also done a lot of upgrades and each time it gets better.

I never thought I would be downloading apps for Violet already...but I am. She loves my iPad, especially when we FaceTime with her Nana and Grandpa. So I combined her love of FaceTime with her love of Elmo and voila Elmo Calls. The app comes with a few sets of free calls and then there is a whole boatload you can buy for .99 cents. So far we are happy with the ones that came with it,

Next up is Similiac Strong Moms app. I just downloaded this app this week to help me track Violet's sleeping patterns especially her naps. I think she is starting to transition to one naps so she is kinda all over the place. Plus I think if I know her schedule then it will be a bit easier in Disney. You can track feelings, sleep, diapers, and weight, it is a neat app.

PicFrame is one of my very favorites, it was the first app I used to edit my pictures for blogging. It is so much fun to play around with and it is how I print out my instagram prints.

Oh how I love Instagram! At first I didn't get the Instagram hype but now I am all about it. I love seeing pics from my fellow bloggers, friends and I have found blogs to read that I may not have found before.

One if the super big reasons I wanted an iPad was to use the mobile version of Myfitnesspal. I love that I scan barcodes and it pulls up the calories for me. So awesome!

And last but not least is the bitly app. I love being able to shorten my links for tweeting and Facebook! You can also track how many clicks a link has had.

I hope you have enjoyed a look at my favorite iPad apps. Do you use any of these apps or have a must try app for me? I would love to hear your suggestions!

  3. I love this list mama! You gave me some great ideas for apps to download for my iPhone. And if some of the apps are only for the iPad, well, the hubs just got one for Christmas from our friend who works at Apple, so I can always download them there. I love Photo365 and Pinterest too! And I'm definitely checking out the Strong Moms app, PicFrame, and bitly. How didn't I ever know about those last two?

  5. This is good information ... in case my laptop decides to go kaput (which I will die if it does)
    BUT...
I can't hold on to my iPad long enough. Reagan now owns it...
Good luck wrestling it away from Violet when she's old enough to know!

  6. Thank you for this list!!! You have no idea how incredibly frustrated I have been trying to write a blog post from my iPad and now I can't wait to use blogsy. Still new to instagram but I love the idea of printing some of those pics.

  12. Great list Leslie! Out of your favorites I also enjoy Instagram and Pinterest. I haven’t tried many of the others you mentioned though, but I will give them a try very soon! When it comes to my iPad I usually find myself using my DISH Remote Access app the most. I’m a TV junkie and I do a lot of business travel for my job at DISH, so it’s especially nice since it lets me watch all of my shows from home, live or from off my DVR, everywhere I go in the world. I absolutely love the fact that I can watch my local news on my iPad with the app while I’m half way across the country! :)
